Born in Boston and raised in Malibu Canyon, Gretchen’s bicoastal upbringing highly influenced her overall style – classic and modern, yet relaxed. When asked about her taste, she says, “There is a combination of east coast sensibility mixed with a laid back beach lifestyle.” In a nutshell, she doesn’t like a lot of fuss. “Simplicity in clothing, whether it be business or bohemian, always best reflects a person’s natural essence.”

Growing up with a father in the music business and a mother who was a costume designer for feature films, she knew her direction early on, to incorporate her love of music with her innate aptitude for fashion.

Patch found her calling when she caught a break dressing musicians like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, and Courtney Love. This experience honed her talent for adapting on a whim and kept her on her toes, similar to the days of now with her seven-year-old son.

Gretchen’s growing career jetsetted her between Los Angeles and New York working on films, music videos, editorial campaigns and everything between. Drawn to the industry’s fast pace, Gretchen evolved into a sought after commercial stylist, working with brands such as Apple, Audi, Cover Girl, and Nike as well as some of the most influential directors.

These days, Gretchen finds her inspiration in dressing everyone from business and entertainment professionals to celebrities and stay at home moms with her personal styling services.

She now splits her time between Venice, Boston, and Martha’s Vineyard.
